A RARE LAPAROSCOPY SURGERY DONE FOR URINARY BLADDER CANCER AT ANDHRA HOSPITALS We are Glad to inform the press about yet another achievement by Doctors at Andhra Hospital who Have successfully performed a rare laparoscopic surgery for Urinary bladder Cancer. A 73 year old lady, resident of Vuyyuru was suffering from severe urinary symptoms for 2 months duration. She presented to us in Early November and was diagnosed to have Large Growth in urinary bladder. Biopsy was done and she was diagnosed to have a rare bladder tumor called Urachal Adenocarcinoma. This cancer is unique that its incidence is only 0.02% among all adult cancers and has high mortality if untreated. The Doctors have successfully performed a Laparoscopic Partial Cystectomy surgery and bilateral Pelvic Lymph Node dissection. Surgery was performed by Chief Urologist Dr.Koushik Amancharla along with a team of medical experts at Andhra Hospital. This surgery is a challenge owing to the complexity of the cancer & its unusual location in the dome of urinary bladder.
